IT’S THE LAW. Texting by drivers of any age is illegal in Vermont. Teens are prohibited from using any electronic devices. The law includes fines of $100 for the first offense and $250 for the second offense, plus a 30-day suspension for junior drivers. Drivers would receive two points for first offenses; five thereafter.
